Purelyco started with a simple truth: for a lot of us, coffee is not just a drink.

It is the first decision of the day.
The quiet moment before everything starts moving.
The fuel before work, class, training, meetings, studying, building, creating, and figuring life out in real time.

I know that feeling well because coffee has been part of my daily routine for years.

As an entrepreneur, a college graduate, and someone who takes fitness, nutrition, and personal performance seriously, I have always treated my morning routine as more than a habit. It sets the tone for how I show up. On demanding days, coffee has been there for the early starts, the long work sessions, the deep focus blocks, and the moments where I needed to lock in and keep going.

But like a lot of people, I started to notice the tradeoff.

I loved coffee. I loved the ritual. I loved the energy. But I did not love the jittery feeling that sometimes came with it. I definitely did not love the crash that could hit later in the day, right when I still needed to be sharp.

That tension is what eventually became Purelyco.

I never wanted to “quit coffee.”

Where Functional Coffee Came In

I have always been interested in nutrition, fitness, and the role that small daily choices can play in how you feel.

That naturally led me to functional ingredients like Lion’s Mane and Chaga - two mushrooms that have become popular in wellness routines for their connection to focus, clarity, and everyday support.

But there was one problem.

A friend of mine had tried mushroom coffee before, and he told me it tasted horrible. I remember him walking over to me in the library as I was studying and trying it myself - I was not a fan, needless to say.

Domestic Manufacturing Was Important to Me

From the beginning, I wanted Purelyco to feel like a brand customers could trust.

That meant caring about more than the label design or the flavor notes. It meant paying attention to where and how the product was made.

Purelyco products are manufactured in the USA using globally sourced ingredients in an FDA-compliant facility.

Keeping manufacturing domestic was important to me because I wanted stronger oversight, clearer accountability, and a product experience that felt aligned with the standard I would personally expect as a customer.
